Though Paul Klee coined the phrase “taking a line for a walk” to describe the act of drawing in an automatist, improvisational way–letting the line lead you someplace–it works for us.
Me, Bonnie Hull, a painter on the west coast, my brother, Howard Decker, an architect on the east coast, we both draw when we’re home, when we travel, as a way to think, to relax, to move our creative thoughts forward. This blog is a way for us to have a drawn dialog.

Very nice of you to let us, the adoring public, in on this e-conversation, I must say. Hello, Howard. I wonder if you remember that time you and Bonnie and Roger and I were sitting in the living room at Ebb St and laughing and laughing I do. Hi, Bon. I love knowing what you’re doing these days when you’re sitting at the computer–instead of trying to buy brown-and-white on e-bay, Oh, but that’s so long ago. So over. See you in person SOON.

Bonnie, May I use your image for a t-shirt in our art therapy club? I would modify it in photoshop and add the words “art therapy” in the tree branches. Please let me know your thoughts on this, as I do not want to print t-shirts with an image of your work (albeit altered) without your permission. Thank you sincerely for your time. I may be reached at arttherapymichigan at gmail dot com with your response. I can also send you a copy of the design there. Thanks again.
